TWRP asks for password

Post by giorgoslouk » 13 Apr 2019, 20:42

Hello everybody,
I just tried to install 9.4.11 on my Whyred and for the first time TWRP asks for password saying that my data is encrypted.
Thus it fails to decrypt data and wipe cache - dalvik cache and mount storage as well.
I'm on 9.3.28 now and i never had that issue before.
My TWRP version is 3.2.1.2.

Any ideas?

Regards.

When TWRP is asking for a password, that means your /data partition is encrypted.

You have to format /data (not just wipe).
You can do that in TWRP.

After that you can use your phone without any problems.

Please have in mind that this will remove all the data on your phone.

Like 20380073 said above i did not encrypt anything.
I just tried to install 9.4.11
Searching over the net i found that many users had this issue.
They formatted /data but their problem insisted.
I will upgrade TWRP and we' ll see.

Phones are typically encrypted when you buy/first use them. Maybe there is a bug in latest version which added some kind of encryption to your existing data. You can check out the reuploaded version.

9.4.11 REUPLOADED
-Fixed initial setup FC
-Fixed missing Webview for POCOF1 and HMNote6Pro

9.4.12 for some devices released

The bug is not on 9.4.11.
It is on 9.3.28.
TWRP asks password when we boot to it and every other action fails after that.
