It failed to unmount system, mi9 have system_root i can test your zips if u contact with me, i h bl opened. Nice work!
Which twrp? Because mine installed without error.
I've the global version, xiaomi9, not cepheus, i change the zip to force install in xiaomi9, but it failed to unmount system in this twrp https://www.lanzous.com/i39m37e
Ok I think it's better to keep thread clean to develop mod. Instead of twrp failures.

Well I am not sure if your installation suceeded...
Can you please check the md5sum of the file that is now placed on your phone at /system/priv-app/MiuiSystemUI/MiuiSystemUI.apk ?
It should be 4f389da1bc447e405517a638863803a6

If it doesnt match, you should try to manually extract the ZIP and move the APK to this place.

You were right it didn't matched the md5 checksum. I moved the apk to the folder. But no luck. Nothing has changed and it behaves the same.

Well do you have a rooted ROM and can you check the file while your phone is booted instead of TWRP ?
What ROM are you using ?

Have you tried globeROM for MI 9 ?

I use Xiaomi.eu 3.3.14 rom and the device is rooted by Magisk Canary build. Other didn't work. Afaik there is no GlobeRom for MI9?

I replaced the file in Mixplorer. Not by ADB or twrp.

Mi9 globeROM is here: https://mi-globe.com/rom-builder-featur ... lname=Mi+9

But xiaomi.eu + magisk should be fine.

Please check permissions and ownership of MiuiSystemUI.apk after you copied it.
Should be root.root 644 -rw-r--r-

Then reboot ! Still no changes ?

Ahum.... Turns out i put the file in the wrong folder manually.
Now placed the file by hand to the correct map.... Sorry...

It gets a bootloop. When I mount system in twrp and scroll to the list of root files... It gets a bootloop.

TWRP is not optimal for the MI9. I guess we have to wait for better TWRP with encryption possibilities.

Or maybe others have succes...

Thanks so much so far.

TWRP should be no problem, since you can simply place the file with root explorer on a running system.

Best would be to install the Mod with the zip file I uploaded.
Can you please help me to find the problem with the zip ?

Install the "enable" zip again in TWRP and after installation copy the /tmp/recovery.log from your TWRP to a computer. Would be nice if you can upload it here so I can see whats happening.

Off course I will do that but didn't want to give you more work while maybe TWRP is f*ucked up. I am not home right now. When I am I will upload.
