A have a question on the new feature: SSH Server.
I updated my stable ROM with this feature enabled and realised that netd is constantly running in the background at around 4..5% - then checked what is the background and dropbear (the SSH server) is causing burstly CPU peaks and not letting the SoC idle at the lowest freq. Killing the dropbear process won't help, the init.d script is respawning it almost immediately. I did not check the script yet - but will do - but in the meantime do you have some basic documentation how to handle SSH server? Did you implement a stopping function or if one wan't to stop it then:
- remove (or move to a temp location) the init.d script of SSHd and restart or
- remove (or move to a temp location) the init.d script of SSHd and kill dropbear process as well as the init.d shell script or
- did you implement a way to stop and start it when one want to use/stop it?
Oh, one more thing:
SuperSU has been removed due to issues/bugs - I still would like to use it for my phone instead of Magisk (for now) so may I have a list of issues that lead to this decision? Probably I will go back to use Magisk (I know how it works and performs, I have a mod in the official Magisk Repo, though) just would like to know what were the issues with SuperSU.
to disable the SSH server you can just remove the script from init.d and reboot your phone.
As long as you dont have an open connection, SSH should not stress your CPU, we are using wakelocks for open connections.
SuperSU has caused problems while patching the boot image on different phones (not all!).
We think Magisk is working perfectly and its easier for us to manage since it works on all devices.
