SystemUI has stopped

Post by Highwanted » 24 Aug 2018, 11:56

Hi everyone,

just yesterday i flashed the newest MIUI 8.8.16 from the ROM Builder site after fully wiping my Mi 8 and everysince then i regularly get error messages that SystemUI has stopped working and my phone gets locked.

Before flashing that rom i still had MIUI Stable 9.5.8 on it, just how i got it.
In the Rom Builder i used the expert settings and disabled everything except for the Magisk Root, MIUI Unlimited App and the Ringtone Pack.

After the flash it booted fine but started giving the errors more or less at random.
Sometimes when starting an app or when switching between apps, but it also happened right in the middle of watching a video on youtube.

Anyone got an idea how i could fix that issue?

I already cleared cache and dalvik, and cleared the systemui apps cache in the settings but it keeps happening.

oh, that must be it, didn't know german wasn't supported in that version.

Can i fix it by just switching to english then?

i just switched it, but since sometimes the error only appeared after 20+ minutes it might take a while for me to be sure by just testing

I have flashed than my Backup from 8.8.9

This problem is not from Mi-Globe, is the problem from MIUI!
We can only hope that the 8.8.23 has not this BUG

I think because the phone is completely in German, brings a language change nothing, but i dont know!

That was a bug in xiaomi.eu translation on 8.8.16!
Changing language to english will fix it.

Latest version 8.8.23 is fixed as well anyhow, so you can use this one :P

You are most likely accidentally deleting critical system files. Try to fix the safe mode: Keep pressing the Android phone's power button > Receive a prompt to enter safe mode > OK > Start, check if this error exists. If the SystemUI has stopped error persists, you'd better contact the Xiaomi Repair Center.

You are responding to posts made a year ago. Also the latest build has shutdown and excessive battery heat bugs, ( So does the source, so not the fault of Mi-Globe) anyone reading should roll back to 9.7.4 or 9.6.27
