EXTREME debloating

Postby Dgkgn » 23 Jun 2017, 15:40

Hello everyone
i m very new not only to xiaomi and miui but also to android. i m very keen on simplifiying something and very paranoid, so i have made a huge debloating on my xiaomi redmi 4x. i have uninstalled 90+ system apps including google accounts, play services, miui accounts, bluetooth etc. etc.
i use my device for only this apps: nova launcher, phone, sms, whatsapp, messenger lite, yandex maps, camera, recorder (including phone call) and web browsing (with firefox).

I am on miui v8 7.4.14 beta and will try the latest roms sone time later but for now
here is the thing, i cant stop myself going on debloating =) and wonder whether i can uninstall these apps or not, i have twrp 3.0 and a full back up incase anything happens. is it possible to break the device upto a point that can not be returnable via twrp by uninstalling any system app, or brick the device? thanks a lot..

android system webview
com.miui.smsextra
incallui
intent filter verification service
miui sdk
package installer
wt_version_query
yellow pages
configupdater
com.android.carrierconfig
com.android.managedprovisioning
com.android.sharedstoragebackup
com.android.thememanger.module (i have nova launcher)
com.miui.home.launcher.assistant (nova again)
com.miui.rom
com.miui.translation.kingsoft (i use device in english)
com.miui.translationservice
com.qualcomm.fastdormancy (HDSP+ is nothing to me)
com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel (i wonder this app most)
com.qualcomm.qti,telephony.vodafonepack (i use vodafone but what is this ?
com.qualcomm.uimremoteclient (no miui remote, ir)
DMRegService (this one annoys me = )
fidosuiservice
fused location (i uninstalled this on my lg and yandex maps still running)
hybridplatform (no second or clone apps etc)
mdtpservice
mmsservice (i dont use mms)
MQSAS (this consumes battery i guess)
org.codeaurora.btmultisim (i dont use two sim card)
performance -- com.miui.daemon
smartcardservice
statmanQ
updater (i dont need updates)
upnp service
wt_secret_code_manager (didnt like the name)
xiamoi service framework
xiaomi sim activate service

When i uninstalled updater, the device asks for a name and password in the lock screen, what is that ??

if you would be so kind to answer at least one question, i would be gratefull

thanks a lot agaiin..

thats nice ! thanks for your efforts !

Well you cannot brick your device just with removing system files. you can always boot into TWRP and restore your backup again :)

Do you see any difference in performance / Batterylife ?

well thanks for the tip.

i dont know how i did manage but once i couldnt entered to twrp mode and the device went on bootloop. and i had to install it again from fastboot mode. i used my backup file from my computer, but the unlock pattern was corrupted so i had to remove some key files in backup and solved the issue, long story =)

after bootloop and re installing twrp, oddly my battery life decreased or i couldnt tested properly. anyway in the end, now of course the battery life and performance of the device is awesome.. but some feauteres are disabled, including lockscreen and fingerprint. but i am using the fingerprint censor as power button, which is enough for me (thanks to a thread in this forum)
